Students minoring in Gerontology are required to spend 40 hours in face to face direct contact with older adults. Some examples of settings students have identified to meet this criteria include: hospitals, adult day programs, senior centers, nursing homes, and more. Required field internships for a variety of majors, in relevant settings, have often met this required field component.
